A long trip in your RV can leave both the interior and exterior of your rig in total disarray. Figuring out how to tackle such a huge mess both inside and out can be tricky, and we recommend following our post-trip cleaning guide below to get your RV back in pristine condition in no time.

Gather Items

Before you can give your RV a good deep cleaning, you’ll need to gather up all the items in your way. We recommend using 3 bags; one for garbage, one for laundry, and one for items that need to be returned to the house. Afterward, whatever is left in your RV can be returned to its original spot so you can get started on cleaning your RV.

Clean the Interior

To decrease the likelihood of mold or pests appearing in your RV, we recommend cleaning your rig’s bathroom, kitchen, and water tanks with a disinfectant. Afterward, you’ll want to vacuum the floors and open all the windows and doors on your model to help air out your RV.

Wash Your RV

While you don’t need to wash the exterior of your RV every time you return from a trip, if you notice a layer of dirt or mud on your rig, we recommend giving it a quick scrub to decrease the chance of rust from appearing on your rig. Once your RV is clean, be sure to allow it to dry in the sun completely before placing it in storage or your garage.
