Tire Inflation
Tire inflation is a significant factor in determining the wear that your tire endures as you drive. If a tire is overinflated, you may notice that the tread is wearing more quickly. Proper inflation helps improve the fuel economy and reduces overall tread wear. You can refer to the owner’s manual to determine the ideal air pressure. Use a tire pressure gauge to check the current psi level. Make any necessary adjustments so that your RV tires match the manufacturer’s recommended pressure.
Tire Wear
As you may know, tire tread helps your RV properly grip the road. Over time, this will naturally wear down. Because RVs often see less travel than cars, the most common wear is cracking in the sidewalls, which can take a tire out of service long before the life of the tread is up. If a tire is more than 4-5 years old, you need to consider getting a replacement, otherwise, you risk a blowout on the road.
