Exterior Inspection

When inspecting a used RV, we recommend beginning with the model’s exterior. To start, ensure that seals on windows, doors, and the roof are all intact and don’t show signs of cracks, punctures, or wear. You’ll also want to inspect these areas—as well as vents and AC units— for signs of mold, soft spots, or discolorations, as this may be a sign that your used RV has experienced water damage or a leak. Finally, don’t forget to quickly inspect your RV’s tires for any signs of extreme or uneven wear, dry rot, or cracking.

Interior Inspection

To inspect your used RV’s interior, begin by checking that all appliances function properly. Turn on the TV, test run the microwave, and ensure that the furnace heats. Once all of your appliances check out, move on to running faucets and flushing toilets to ensure the plumbing works properly. When inspecting your plumbing remember to also take a peek at pipes and fixtures to check for water damage. Finally, give your used RV’s interior a quick once over for any signs of damage—such as soft spots in the floor or the cabinets for mold.
